| Rubbing #1 |
This rubbing is very vibrant and has a lot of very powerful colors but the most outstanding one is obviously pink which overbears a few of the other colors such as the green and the purple. The patterns displayed in this are extremely course and strong to the point of barely being able to see the text that is hidden behind the patterns. This is an extremely warm piece wit the use of pink, red and purple, hints of a coolness emerge in the green that is hidden underneath.

This is a much more subtle and cool rubbing with not such a vibrant and overbearing color or pattern scheme. The orange pattern gives it a sense of warmness but not too much in contrast to the first rubbing. The overlapping of the much cooler colors gives the rubbing a relief from the orange and give the opposite effect from the last rubbing due to the fact that the cool colors were very hidden in the last rubbing however in the one they are the centerpiece.
Goals of this Assignment
I feel as though we did this assignment to throw us straight into what the processes are for any graphic designer, whether its crayon rubbings at AWC or graphics for a super bowl commercial, its all the same process just on different scales.
What we Learned
What we learned through this assignment were such things as.
- How to scan an image
- How to save it to dropbox
- How to resize that image in photoshop
- How to create a blog entry showing off these crayon rubbings
- How to create and share a URL through dropbox
On the first image, it seems to have very bright and powerful colors especially the pink. Just how you said. The text doesn't really stand out much due to the other colors. Although, there is an arrow pointing up which could tell me that there is a room over there but unsure of what room it could be since it is almost invisible but nonetheless the pink just grabs your attention. On the second image, the colors seem more clear and precise. It's something that I like, order. not much detail is given but the orange color just blends perfectly with the entire image mixed with the green. It seems to me that the ladies restroom is in room 115. I love both of these images due to the colors used. The first image just gives out this powerful vibe which can grab someone's attention and the second one, I simply love the pattern.
